George Adams, Jr.
Founder
George has been involved in residential construction for over 40 years. His experience and reputation in the industry are second to none. George graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelors in Business and began his home building and remodeling business shortly thereafter.
He has developed several top notch communities in York County, build 100’s of homes, and completed numerous successful remodeling projects. George has always taken the extra steps to make sure every customer he builds for is 100% satisfied with the work of Built By Adams. This is evident in the countless customer referrals his company receives and zero negative reviews throughout 40 years in operation.
In 2006, after many years of building energy efficient homes, Built By Adams made a commitment to build all homes to meet the ENERGY STAR guidelines. George has always wanted to be able to prove to his customers that the extra care he took in building their home would pay off, not only in yearly cost savings, but also with its overall impact on the environment as well. George resides in Shapleigh with his wife Patricia and has 3 children.
Ryan Adams
President
Ryan has been in the home building, remodeling, real estate markets for over 18+ years and continues to help clients plan and build successful remodeling and home building projects. He has been an integral part of the growth of Built By Adams and has gone on to help consult with other remodeling and home building businesses all across the country.
Ryan has authored several books, 7 Secrets to Achieving Rapid Growth in Your Remodeling Business and Facebook Advertising for Remodelers. Ryan has been featured in Remodeling Magazine, Forbes Magazine (May 2015 Issue), Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Time, Portland Press Herald, and America’s Premier Experts.
He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine as well as additional degrees from Notre Dame and Cornell University. Ryan lives in Kennebunkport with his wife Leah and three children.
Leah Adams
Chief Financial Officer and Controller
Leah manages the financial operations for Built By Adams and the rest of the Adams owned companies. She is a native of Kennebunkport and received her Bachelors in Marketing with a minor in Leadership and Women from Simmons College in Boston, MA.
Prior to joining Built By Adams, Leah has spent her post grad years working for the Boston Bruins NHL hockey team, Harvard-affiliated Joslin Diabetes Center and Sweetser. She brings to over a decade of experience working for large corporations and non-profits. She is married to Ryan and lives in Southern Maine with their 3 children.
Chris Skala
Site Superintendent
Chris grew up in Agawam, Massachusetts and has a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and a second Bachelor’s in Marketing Communications. He has been a Carpenter and Flooring and Tile Specialist with Built By Adams since 2017 and recently moved to Site Superintendent in 2020, and runs the day to day onsite management. The thing he likes most about his job is meeting new people and learning from their ideas on designs. Chris specializes in tile installation, which he has been doing for over 20 years. When not at work, he enjoys classic cars, boating, kayak fishing, backyard maple syrup production and spending time with family. He lives in Kennebunk with his wife Heather, step daughter Taryn, and two dogs, Fenway and Gillette.
